Kolkata - Zoo and Mehndi Day

We made plans for the day over breakfast and decided to go to the zoo while they ladies were having henna applied. So Andy, Alex, Nate, Brady, Cal and I set off together.

The zoo was packed. There were tons of school groups there. It was probably the busiest place we’ve been so far.

Highlights for me as far as animals were the white tigers, toucans, rhino, and cassowaries. It was hard to get good pictures since the fences blocked a lot.

I needed a serious nap when we got back but did check out the henna being applied. Its dispensed from small tubes like oil paint. When applied it looks similar to when you apply frosting to a cake. They have to leave it on for 3 hours after applying.

The bride (Cori) got the most intricate design done. Molly’s was less intense, but still looked complicated.
