Kolkata - Last Day

This was our last day in Kolkata. Cal was up early so the kitchen and house staff took him and gave him a tour of the kitchen while I had breakfast.
Since it was close and I needed to get out and do something, I went to mother Teresa’s house/tomb. It was about a half hour walk, and I got to see a bunch of shops along the way. The site itself has her tomb, displays of basically everything she owned, down to her towels and clothes pins, and the room she lived in. I also passed the tire street on the way there. Dozens of tire vendors and small engine repair places in the same place.
On the way back I took my time walking through the market. A lot of the vendors still use hanging scales here for weighing out produce. I love all the colours and the bustle of people doing their shopping.
The fish mongers all have these curved blades they use for scaling and portioning out the fish.
The last event at Rik’s parents’ house where he grew up. We had mutton again as well as a very heavily spiced chicken, sweet yogurt, and desserts.
We weren’t really sure what time we were leaving Kolkata but we knew it was sometime on the 16th. I wasn’t surprised that it was at 1 AM.
