First real day in Malaga
Cal seemed a little better overnight, though he’s still raspy. The fever seems to have come down. I’m still not used to the time zone change so I’ve been up half the night.
We slept in until 12:30, but then walked to the beach. The loose tiles of the sidewalk click as you walk over them. Molly says they’re saying cheers as you walk.
We tried to get tapas at a cocktail bar, but they were out of half the menu. The other half of the menu they said had gone bad so we just had empanadas.
We walked back to our hotel past the cathedral and the bull fighting ring.
After a nice nap we went out to dinner again around 10PM. There was a place called La Plancha Taberna only a block from our hotel that ended up having delicious food. I got some carne a la moruna (moorish pork and potatoes), a serranito montadito (pork and bacon sandwich). I also had my first glass of vermouth, which is a little strange to drink on its own, but with ice and a slice of lemon it tasted like other aperatifs.
