Train ride to Madrid (pics coming soon)

Dec 4, 2024 - 1 minute read

Our train to Madrid left around noon. We didn’t have any trouble getting in the train, and it’s so comfortable. So much leg room. Only half our car was occupied so we put Cal’s seat on the floor with one of us and grabbed another row.

The scenery reminded me a bit of the west, dry hills, but instead of cattle it was all orchards. Many I could tell were oranges. Spain is Europe’s biggest producer of oranges and olives, so those seem likely.

Our Airbnb in Madrid was walking distance from the train station. It’s easy to get turned around in the tiny streets of Madrid. They all look the same and there are no visible landmarks. There are tiny shops everywhere. There must be 4 restaurants per block.

There are people everywhere bundled up in winter coats. I’m in a T-shirt but would have rather had a sweatshirt. The patio heaters are going strong

We went out for food and walked quite a way. Paella and grilled veggies.
